Welcome to the TGP Charity Committee
Who we are: Elizabeth Gregson, Darren Holman, Marion Driscoll, Paul Margetts, Karla Penter
How we help: We review the fundraising and charitable requests that come externally and internally. Using TGP’s charity budget we donate to funds already raised by individuals.
Our policy is to support charities that work in one or more of the following areas:
- Education, Training and Employability
- Healthcare
- Social Inclusion
- Local Regeneration
In 2017, we donated £27,500 to charitable causes – here are some of the highlights from the year:
Mark Hunt is involved with the running of the Under 16’s Girls Football team in Horley. We matched the £750 Mark raised to sponsor the kit for the team.
Andrew Green ran the 10k Brighton Marathon in April 2017 and raised £250 for the NSPCC. TGP matched his donation.
In addition to the above, 2017 saw our employees take on a variety of challenges to raise money with Charity Committee sponsorship;
- Tom Holbourn took part in the Prudential Ride London Event for Great Ormond Street Hospital
- Sean Guerin and Sarah Povey ran the Brighton Gauntlet to raise money for The Lily Foundation
- A group of intrepid souls took part in the Big Sleep Out, raising a whopping £3,600
- Fundraising was matched from a coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer run by Operations
- A donation was made to Relate Mid Surrey, with whom Paul Margetts is actively involved
- TGP sponsored the Gatton Country Fair for the third year
- TGP continued to support the Green Schools Awards, now called The Better Energy School Awards.
