Life certainly continues to feel different in the 6th week of lockdown and I sincerely hope that you and your families are safe and well.

Still, we must follow Government advice to safeguard ourselves and each other.  Nothing is more important at present and I thank you all for your commitment to achieving this.

I appreciate that many work-related activities can be harder to achieve or take longer than normal from home.  This can lead to longer working days or more concerted effort going into even the smallest of tasks whilst also juggling other responsibilities.  I’m proud of how you’ve all chosen to embrace the challenges you face personally and professionally.  Your positive attitude is one of the many great attributes that stand us apart from our competitors and will see us through challenging times.

Once again, I’d like to remind you to take care of yourself both mentally and physically and balance your time between your various commitments. You can only perform at your best – inside and outside of work - when you prioritise self-care.

Some of you are starting to miss your colleagues and working in the office environment and this is true of us in SMT too. In order to prepare us for re-opening the offices we’re creating ‘return to work’ plans and this is being led by Jerome Hardy.  Of course, your health and safety features as the no.1 priority.

The SMT virtual breakfast clubs are continuing to be successful and next week you’re all invited to a ‘Big Breakfast’ session.  You will receive a personal invitation to one of these sessions shortly.  Much like the comms days, we’ve divided the business up into three and, with the assistance of your Line Managers, have allocated you on to a session. I look forward to taking any questions about any aspect of our business then.

I know how busy you are so thanks once again for giving this newsletter your attention.  All previous articles are also available on this platform when you click through, so I hope you find it a useful resource.  You will continue to receive Switched On newsletters once per week until further notice.

Take care,
Dave
