With effect from 2nd July 2018, we have established a new ‘AMR Data Services’ function within Operations that is responsible for managing gas AMR data provision and data quality across our ~20k premium (‘Gold’ or ‘Platinum’ schedule) gas AMR meters.
Each day, we provide read and consumption data from premium AMR meters to hundreds of Major Business customers and third party intermediaries via our web portal and automated data feeds. As our portfolio has grown it has become increasingly difficult for us to manage customers’ reporting requirements and service expectations within a centralised AMR Operations team. The creation of a new AMR Data Services function will, therefore, enable us to give this area of our business an appropriate level of focus and deliver an enhanced customer experience.
This change means that we now have two teams responsible for the management of our gas AMR portfolio:
- AMR Operations - Managed by Dave Buckell and Sara Smalley. This team will continue be responsible for all AMR and Smart meter rollout activity, and the management issues related to our Bronze (month-end read only) AMR meters, and
- AMR Data Services - Managed by Daren Holman. This team will be responsible for the management of post-installation AMR read and data issues related to premium AMR meters.
The day-to-day impact of this change is that there needs to be a division of CQMS work across the AMR Operations and AMR Data Services teams as follows:

*Determining which work list to assign your query to
Please check the AMR Schedule Code for the relevant MPR in MRM before assigning your query (see the screenshot below).

All other “AMR” CQMS work lists are used by the AMR Operations and AMR Data Services teams to organise gas AMR queries once the initial investigation work has been completed. These should not normally be used when raising new AMR queries.
