We are very glad to welcome our new additions to the Editorial Team. Monia Tempesta, Sales Executive from Leeds, and Georgia Courtney, Team Leader from Newcastle.
To find out a little more about them, we gave them some questions to answer...
Monia Tempesta
What is your favourite thing about working at TGP?
I have been with TGP for more than 5 years and since January 2019 I have been working within the COO team. I like working in sales, dealing with customers, listening to them, understanding their problems and helping to solve them - while building trust and closing deals. Closing deals is seen as the more exciting part of the sales process because it is the rewarding one, however, I think every single step is very important as I wouldn't be able to close deals if one step was missing.
Who would you give a shout out to and why?
I am a curious individual so I am always thinking of possible ways to improve myself and the only person I would shout is actually me. If I think I need to get better here and there, either in my private life and work-related environment, there is the hope I could improve.
What makes you happy?
Happiness for me is given by the nature and quality of the relationship I have with people close to me. If they are happy I am happy too. Over the years I have changed enormously, however, some values will never change and I try to apply them in my everyday life to be a good mum, daughter, sister, aunt and a friend. Although my family is far away I try to be as present as I can. I also apply the same values with my customers too, so if I work to make them happy and I get recognition from them, I am happy too
Are you a dog or a cat person and why?
I grew up with dogs and cats, so I like them both and they used to live peacefully together every day because they were educated this way.
Who is your favourite superhero?
I would say my favourite superhero is Iron Man, not only because the character is handsome and does cool things but also because I read the real story of Robert Downey. He had a tough life before his success as Iron Man. Sometimes it is necessary to touch the bottom to be able to reach the top.
Favourite holiday destination?
My favourite holiday is not about the place I am going to but who I am with. There are lots of places I would like to go to, I like the sea, the mountains and cultural trips.
What would your personal mascot be?
Out of curiosity I did a quiz to find out what animal mascot would represent me best ...and it turned out to be a monkey because I am funny and I have always a smile on my face! I have been told that several times so I can recognize me in this description.
Georgia Courtney
What is your favourite thing about working at TGP?
Having worked within the energy industry for 2 years now it is so refreshing to be a part of something so big – to be valued and involved in the family feel that TGP and everyone within offers. I joined Total Gas & Power in late February and the opportunities I have been given already are amazing. I am currently based in our Newcastle sales office as a team leader and its great being able to share my knowledge and experience with other people. I actually look forward to going into work in the morning! I am due to visit our Redhill office in the upcoming weeks with our new admin girl as part of her training which I’m looking forward to. It’s always nice meeting people in the business who we don’t have much contact in Newcastle.
Who would I give a shout out to?
The first person who springs to mind is my younger sister. She’s just turned 12 and has been performing in various shows and pantomimes across Newcastle for the past 3 years. Hopefully, my claim to fame if she ends up on TV!
Are you a dog or a cat person and why?
In the cat or dog debate dogs would be my first and only choice! Cats freak me out, they’re temperamental and vicious – quite like myself before lunchtime.
