Who we are
It’s Total’s mission to become the responsible energy major, and part of that is a commitment to the communities we work within. At Total Gas & Power, we share that commitment, and our CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Committee is where most of that work starts. The committee is a small group of TGP employees who are dedicated to ensuring we meet our charitable commitments:
Liz Gregson – Head of HR
Paul Margetts – Head of Audit & Compliance
Darren Holman – Energy Services Manager
Marion Driscoll – Office Services Manager
Meena Sparkes-Mahi - Senior Business Change Consultant
Amy Devlin – Communications Manager
Better Energy School Awards
What we do
We have an annual budget, which we split between supporting our charity partner commitments, and the brilliant fundraising work that you do individually. We also plan TGP’s strategic CSR commitments – those are the large scale projects and partnerships that will have the greatest impact on our communities.
In line with the policy of Total Group, our aim is to support charities that work in one or more of these areas:
• Forests and climate
• Youth education and inclusion
• Dialog between cultures and heritage
• Safety on roads
What we did in 2018
2018 was a busy year for all things CSR at TGP. Here are just some of the amazing things we were a part of:
• Total Build – we funded a major project at Hindleap Warren, and with the help of one week of your time created an outdoor activity course fit for the thousands of young people whose lives are improved every year by visiting their centre.
• Supported TGPers in their fundraising efforts to the tune of over £2300, benefitting a range of charities including British Heart Foundation, Lily Foundation, Alzheimers Society and The Emily Ash Trust.
• We sponsored (for the 12th year running) the Better Energy Awards, giving over 250,000 young people the opportunity to design some amazing environmental projects, in partnership with YPTE.
• Matched employee fundraising when we took part in the brilliant Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning…and ate a lot of cake.
• Doubled the funds raised by employees for the Renewed Hope Trust where we donned our best festive jumpers for Christmas jumper day.
• Supported local charity Voluntary Action Reigate & Banstead by donating towards their Christmas meal for vulnerable residents in the community.
