From 2019 to the year ahead…
Industry Overview
· At the end of 2019, suppliers were requested to submit their current portfolio position to BEIS (the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy) - plus a 2 year forecast for Smart and AMR meter enrolment
· The enrolment and adoption programme of the older model of smart meters (SMETS 1) continues to provide challenges. Whilst a small number of this meter type have been adopted, the majority of TGP’s are anticipated mid-2020 (subject to industry change)
Customer Engagement
· TGP’s portfolio now has reached the 100 mark, a small milestone with a lot more to be done
· As of January, the SME direct teams in Newcastle and Leeds are now inviting customers to request a meter upgrade through updated call scripts
· Marketing strategy and initiatives have been agreed for 2020 to increase customer takeup, including
- Regular updates to the dedicated smart section of our website
- Direct mail pieces and other campaigns to contact all eligible SME and MB customers throughout the year
- New customer case studies to highlight the benefits one year on and installation experience
System Solutions
· TGP's automation solution is undergoing multi-party testing with Utiligroup and SMS Plc
· This is required before a full end-to-end minimum viable product system test, expected to begin once the BOL (‘business orchestration layer’, the adapter that UG uses to communicate to third parties) environment is confirmed – with 204 tests to be completed
