Regular readers of this esteemed publication may recall that 12 months ago we introduced you to a newly formed Steering Committee set up to work on projects that can improve the efficiency of business as usual operations. The Business Efficiency Workstream (BEW) was launched.
Well, we’re back to provide an update on all things BEW.
"Change will not come if we wait for some other person, or
if we wait for some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for.
We are the change that we seek." Barack Obama
The beauty of this endeavour is that it has, and is, empowering individuals within all areas of the business. Giving them the opportunity to have their ideas heard - and if approved - implemented to make important changes to their daily working life.
In the past 12 months, 27 small but significant changes have been made, and there are a further 74 that have been approved, with 34 of those currently being worked on. Of all the ideas submitted, 62% have been met with approval, which is a testament to both the quality of ideas received, and the desire of those sitting on the BEW Steering Committee to see these changes enacted.
Examples of the changes that have been made include;
- Live Billing, which enables members of our servicing team to bill in real time, rather than waiting for an overnight batch. Transforming the billing process for us, and importantly, our customers
- Individual quotation tagging in P&Q, allowing the Sales teams to tag at quote level rather than customer level. I can personally testify to how this improves our ability to report Sales results accurately
The areas from which most requests have been submitted are: Commercial, Servicing, Billing & IT. Every member of staff is encouraged to put forward ideas and requests for change, so no matter what department you work in, BEW wants to hear from you. To get involved, simply contact your BEW Representative.
