''It's not bragging if its based on facts…”
A lot of women grow up hearing that it is not nice or modest to brag an talk about themselves. So, how do you self-promote in the workplace and get confident in your professional abilities?
This was at the heart of the #IamRemarkable training held for our TGP community as part of activities to mark International Women's Day.
Hear from some of our participants:
- My biggest takeaway from the #IamRemarkable workshop is actually seeing the remarkable women that work at the same company as me – it was really good to see the professional women who deal with some of the same confidence issues as I do so we can know to uplift each other, which I have since made a real effort to do- Lydia Smalley
- My biggest takeaway from the workshop is to spend more time reflecting on myself and taking time each week to remind myself of what I can do. I’ve already spoken to a friend since I did the workshop and asked her to list out why she is remarkable over a glass of wine, I am going to encourage more of the women around me to celebrate everything they do.- Rhiannon Gautama
- Everybody has their confidence issues and you can’t be any good at self-promotion if you are not the one celebrating your own achievement first- Maelys Merlaud
- It was good to get together and be reminded that we are all different but all remarkable and it is not a bad thing to be kind to ourselves. 😊- Anna Belford
- My biggest takeaway from the event is that it is okay to be confident in your abilities, this doesn’t have to mean that you are arrogant- Mel Ellis
- It was a safe environment where we could share and understand our differences but most of all similarities in a constructive way. Making us feel inspired and valued- Ana Galarza Hernandez
