There are many opportunities at TotalEnergies Gas & Power and we encourage you to seek them out as you develop and grow in your role. In this newsletter, we'll share some inspiring stories from colleagues:
Promotions and Internal Moves
In H1 2022, 28 colleagues successfully applied for new roles including promotions and sideways moves. Let's hear from Alex Stringfield who shares his journey:
Name: Alex Stringfield
TEGP Career Journey: I joined the organisation in 2019 as a Data Operations Executive and moved to Settlements in May 2022.
Tell us your 'Why': I had worked in the Data Operations team for about 3 years and was looking for a role better suited to my skillset. My new role was brought to my attention by my head of department who supported me in my application journey.
Advice for anyone considering an internal move:
1. Start with a Job watch- This is a great opportunity provided by the company to learn about other parts of the business. It is also an easy way to get a feel of what the role you aspire to involves.
2. Meet with the role advertiser- If you find a role you like, speak to the department advertising the role. Be clear about what skills you have and how your skills can support the new team.
3. Apply: We spend a lot of time doubting our ability to succeed in a new team. The first step starts with sending in your application and you just never know!
Professional Development
All TotalEnergies employees will be participating in our ASPIRE development programme designed to identify and develop talent and support career aspirations.
Rachael Morse recently completed her 7 Habits training and shared her reflections with us:
Name and role: Rachael Morse – SME Sales Executive
In three words describe your 7 Habits training experience? Enlightening , Uplifting, Enjoyable
What was your biggest learning from the course and how will this contribute to your professional/personal development?
This course encourages self-reflection, it makes you think about your feelings and reactions to situations and the relationships you have with people in your life. This course encourages you to see the situation from another perspective, to effectively resolve conflict and helps to strengthen relationships.
What would you say to colleagues who haven’t booked a training yet?
I highly recommend taking this course, it helps you gain great insight into your own behaviour and reactions, as well as others. This course will help you improve your communication with your family, friends, co-workers and customers.
Fun fact: Racheal submitted the winning name 'Aspire' for our development programme!
