In October Dave Cranfield announced the news that TGP has signed an agreement to acquire Ørsted’s supply portfolio. Here's a quick summary of that agreement:
- It includes direct and indirect industrial, commercial and SME customers that are supplied with gas &/or electricity - the majority of which have renewable electricity contracts. It also includes several Ørsted employees who will transfer across to our business.
- We will honour all supply contract terms and conditions, as well as the agreements that are in place with TPIs & brokers.
- Subject to clearance from the competition authorities, the transfer of customers will take place in Q1 2021.
A month into the project, we've made lots of progress. Firstly, we have formed a project team to manage the transfer of the portfolio into TGP’s business, ensuring the customer transition is as smooth as possible. Michael Painting is overall Project Manager with the whole business being represented in the project team.
At the moment it’s all about preparation and planning to be ‘migration ready’. Here are our current priorities:
- Dave Harries is leading the migration workstream. Working closely with Ørsted, Dave and team are working hard to ensure we are able to onboard customers effectively. They are already exchanging test files with Ørsted - if you want to have an in-depth conversation about data, Dave's your man!
- Ørsted operate several different flexible products which we need to be able to service. In addition, there are also changes we need to make to make the on boarding process as simple as possible. Working with Elena Beech, Ryan English has been leading this analysis. We are now moving into the development phase and Ryan will working closely with Darrell Field and Jessie Dhanoa to ensure the changes are delivered in time.
- At the heart of the project is, of course, the process of onboarding the sites effectively and ensuring they benefit from the great service we offer the rest of our customers. Tony Bartlett, Dan Schouten, Darren South, Sarah Povey and Hannah Bellos are all hard at work detailing the process and communications.
- We’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the data we need to integrate the portfolio and assess its performance. Our commercial (James Hughes & Nick Parr), finance (Brice Nuttin, Phil Ransley), credit risk (Sylwia Chaber) and procurement (Jamie Smith) have completed their analysis and we are now moving to ensure the right data is available at the right time.
We will keep you posted as we progress, but if you have any questions in the meantime, let me, Michael, or one of the project team know.
