It’s getting chilly out there – help us support local people in need by supporting these charities…

Supporting local homeless people Redhill

The long cold nights are almost here, and for too many that means a freezing cold night on the streets. This winter, we have joined forces with Renewed Hoped Trust, a Redhill based charity who, for 15 weeks throughout the winter, run a winter night shelter available to everyone who needs a roof over their heads. We are asking people to donate toiletries and warm clothes to gift to anyone using the shelter. They are looking for:
- New socks and boxer shorts
- Gloves and scarves
- Washbags
- Toiletries: spray deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shower gel and flannels
- £5 Sainsbury’s vouchers for the shelter to buy fresh food to cook for guests
A box will be available for donations in Re-Energise from 19th November to 5th December.
Voluntary Action Reigate & Banstead (VARB)
TGP's charity committee has donated £500 to VARB, who are hosting a Christmas lunch for people who would otherwise be spending Christmas by themselves.
If you know anyone who might be on their own at Christmas who would enjoy this lunch- perhaps you have an elderly neighbour who could use some company, just get in touch with Lisa at lisa@varb.org.uk.
If you would like to help, they are looking for volunteers to help with gift wrapping in The Belfry Centre in Redhill on 3rd and 10th December, from 10am - 4pm.
Supporting our Leeds Community
Leeds based employees are also joining in with an appeal, and are collecting for domestic violence charity Behind Closed Doors. We are looking for donations of gifts for men, women and children living in the Leeds area who are affected by domestic violence.
Gifts should be brought into the office by Tuesday 4 December.
Stripey Stork
Stripey Stork are a Redhill based charity who support children and parents/carers who are experiencing hardship, and this Christmas they have launched Santa Stork, a campaign to deliver new presents to children and their parents/carers. If you would like to support this amazing cause and make sure no child goes without this Christmas, there are three ways you can help:

- Donate a new, unwrapped gift. Kris Wiseman, Major Business Sales will collect your donations and pass them to the charity. Please bring all gifts in by 28th November.
- Buy a gift from Stripey Stork’s Amazon Wishlist.
- Donate money to Stripey Stork’s Local Giving page.
Salvation Army
Just like Stripey Stork, the Salvation Army are also running an appeal for Christmas gifts for children. If you would like to donate a gift, Emily Van Niekerk is collecting donations until 30th November.
