As mergers go we’ve had some big ones…Vodafone and Mannesman, America Online and Time Warner, Beyonce and Jay-Z, and not to mention Fina, Elf and Total…but they don’t get much bigger than this. Yes, Major Business Retention and Acquisition have recently merged to create Major Business Direct Sales a new dedicated sales channel boasting an elite team of nine and headed up by Ken McCaig.

Major Business Direct Sales accounts for around 10% of all sites and 25% of all volume TGP currently supplies. Customers include Tesco, Asda, the Church of England, Greggs, British Sugar, Knight Frank, Lloyds Banking Group, Vauxhall and Marstons to name just a few. All household names with a strong brand presence but more importantly all are customers who place an extremely high value on having a strong direct relationship with their suppliers.

“Our goal will be to lead and nurture our ongoing growth and presence within the major business direct market space” says Ken “and we will do so with a team who are very experienced, motivated and as a collective really excited by the opportunities ahead.”

Mark Rose (Director – Major Business) adds…

“Our market is changing and we need to change with it and this merger is designed to sharpen our focus, ensure greater proactivity where competition is fierce and customer requirements complex. I’m sure everyone at TGP will join me in supporting this channel as we move forward.”

Going forward, Major Business Direct Sales’ focus will be to defend TGP’s market share, target sustainable growth and increase TGP’s presence in product capability outside of just energy supply.

As a team, Major Business Direct Sales will have responsibility for overseeing the management and running of accounts for our existing major direct business customers. Their role will be to maintain and grow these relationships as well as develop new relationships with some of the UK’s large energy users. These prospective new customer’s requirements will be bespoke in nature therefore Major Business Direct Sales will need well set to meet those needs by using the various elements of our proposition and help continue to grow our business.
