Can you remember your New Year resolution? No, me neither. Only 46% of people manage to keep their New Year resolutions. So how can people maintain them and keep focused.
Here are my tips to help you keep your resolutions:
- Break your goal down into manageable chunks. For example, if you want to quit smoking, set yourself a challenge that by a certain date you will be on 5 cigarettes fewer than usual, rather than telling yourself ‘I will never smoke again’.
- Keep recording your progress. By doing this, if you have a bad moment you can look back at how far you have come, which will help you to remain positive.
- Set realistic expectations. A challenge is good but putting too much pressure on yourself will not be motivating to your end result.
- If you slip up, just get back up and on with it - you are only human and mistakes are there to be made and learned from.
Good luck with your resolutions :)
