Total becomes founding member of the new global alliance for plastic waste end

Total has become a founding member of the Alliance to End Plastic Waste, a coalition of global companies to advance solutions to help end plastic waste in the environment, especially in the ocean. They have committed over $1 billion with the goal of investing $1.5 billion over the next five years to help end plastic waste in the environment. Find out more about the alliance here.

Now that we own Direct Energie outright, it was time to rethink our organization to make it more attentive to end customers, both B2B and B2C. That's the job of Power & Gas Europe (PGE), headed by Xavier Caïtucoli, a real pro. I couldn't be more confident that, with Xavier at the helm of PGE, we'll change the game and GRP will go far.”

Offshore dispute between Total and Unite

A dispute over working conditions on three North Sea platforms operated by Total will go to the independent arbitration service Acas. Workers on the Elgin, Alwyn, and Dunbar platforms who are members of the Unite union have taken part in several 12- and 24-hour strikes; their concerns include a move to a ‘three weeks on and three weeks off’ rota. A spokesperson for Total said: "This is a constructive step forward and we look forward to renewed talks to help resolve this dispute."

Total to join Arctic 2 LNG

Total recently reached an agreement to buy the liquefied natural gas (LNG) assets of energy group Engie in a deal worth $1.5 billion.

Total announces the closing of the Maersk Oil acquisition signed on 21st August 2017. It brings to Total around 1 billion barrels of oil.

Aston Martin and Total have signed a global partnership agreement. Total will become an energy partner to Aston Martin throughout 2017, providing its products to the luxury British marque and its official motorsport outfit; Aston Martin Racing.

Total Gas & Power (TGP) has teamed up with Reactive Technologies (RT) to create a new Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for renewable generators.

Total is to acquire GreenFlex, a French company specialised in energy efficiency.

Total has signed an agreement with EREN Renewable Energy to accelerate its growth in the production of power from renewable sources. Total will acquire an indirect interest of 23% in EREN Renewable Energy.
