The ‘Awesome You’ section of Switched On began its life as a place where TGP staff could shout about their achievements, both in and out of work. It very quickly became a bi-monthly summary of baby announcements and charitable endeavours – both incredible feats, and definitely worth shouting about – but in 2019 we’re re-widening the net!

On 28th April 2019 the 39th Annual London Marathon will be taking place. The gruelling 26.2 mile race will as always run from Blackheath, past some of London’s most well-known landmarks and finishing with a final push down The Mall.
A few mighty fine facts about colds and flu

Firstly a disclaimer: I am not a 'knower' of things. But sometimes I think I know “facts”. That’s very much what this column is about. I hope you enjoy and find something to consider here. At the same time I implore you to check what I’m writing. In fact, it’s a good idea to fact check anything you read. In my experience people can be full of hot air and ego and like to act like they know things because it makes them seem smarter than you.

I’m going to start this with a confession: I am a massive numbers geek and as such words are not something considered a strong point. So thanks to the army of people who have helped me to string together some coherent sentences, or not as the case may be!

Total in the news - Nov 2018

On 1st October, GRP created a new division, Power & Gas Europe (PGE)
Philippe Sauquet explained… ”when we founded the segment two years ago, I told you that we needed to build our future around the customer. Just as Marketing & Services makes its money not from fuel sales but related services, we'll make our margins on integrated solutions, not selling electricity alone. And so we have to package those solutions based on customer needs. Now that we own Direct Energie outright, it was time to rethink our organization to make it more attentive to end customers, both B2B and B2C. That's the job of Power & Gas Europe (PGE), headed by Xavier Caïtucoli, a real pro. I couldn't be more confident that, with Xavier at the helm of PGE, we'll change the game and GRP will go far.”
Cape Town Team Communication Days 2018

Last month the TGP Communication Days made it to Cape Town, where the majority of the service to our SME customers is delivered. Much like the UK Communication Days, this involved sharing the TGP strategy and plans for 2019 as well as an update around the transformation projects, plus some outside activities and entertainment to round things off. Led by Rob Kerr and Ian Jenner, who look after the relationship with WNS and our colleagues in Cape Town, we re-used a lot of the materials and artwork from the UK sessions as well as the animations. In a new addition, we also featured a short video from Sion Roberts to give an update on 2018 and the plans for next year.
